Course Overview:
The MSMWJ304 – Operate a High Pressure Water Jetting System course equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate high pressure water jetting equipment in a range of industrial and civil environments. This nationally recognised unit focuses on safe system operation, hazard management, equipment maintenance, and workplace compliance. It is suitable for workers involved in cleaning, cutting, or descaling tasks using high pressure water systems.
Course Content:
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:
Conduct pre-operational checks and risk assessments on water jetting equipment
Select and fit appropriate nozzles, hoses, and attachments for specific tasks
Operate high pressure water jetting systems in line with site procedures and job requirements
Monitor pressure settings and flow rates to ensure safe and effective operation
Recognise and control hazards such as pressure surges, leaks, and flying debris
Respond to emergency situations and apply appropriate shutdown procedures
Perform routine maintenance and clean equipment after use
Comply with workplace health and safety standards, including PPE and permit-to-work systems

Course Requirements:
Participants must be over the age of 18 and possess basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills. A valid form of identification is required. Participants must also be physically fit to undertake practical activities involving manual handling, hose control, and extended standing.
